The Work

Care, in practice.

From groceries and classroom supplies to family memberships, local storytelling, and community tools, Rocktown Realness turns connection into practical action. Sometimes we organize the effort. Sometimes we help an existing effort reach more neighbors.

Feed Our Folks

We connect community generosity with groceries and everyday essentials, with dignity and choice guiding the work. Families tell us what they need, and we use existing services and local relationships to help get resources to them.

Grocery support
Coordinating household grocery orders through Instacart, helping neighbors receive the essentials they request.
Food rescue
Working with Potluck Food Rescue to redistribute available food in our community.
Community access
Supporting community fridges and no-cost markets as additional ways for neighbors to access food and everyday necessities.

Joy and Connection

People deserve opportunities to gather, laugh, and feel connected. We bring equipment, coordination, and care to shared experiences that help make those moments possible.

Forest Heights Green & Gold Dance
Photo booth experiences for two consecutive years, helping students capture a shared school celebration.
Little Rock Zoo Community Day
An RR photo booth experience where visitors could gather and make a memory.

We're bringing photo booths, silent discos, coffee service, and other shared experiences together through the Joy Menu. We turn a good time into good work.

Community in Action

Ways We've Shown Up

Neighbors have helped us stock classrooms, support students, and open doors to recreation and discovery. Here are some of the ways that generosity has become practical care.

  • A swimmer doing laps in the indoor pool at Jim Dailey Fitness & Aquatic Center, beneath a wood-beamed ceiling and tall windows

    Jim Dailey Family Memberships

Community contributions helped sponsor memberships for more than ten families at Jim Dailey Fitness & Aquatic Center, opening access to the pool, gym, walking track, and fitness classes.

  • A Little Rock Zoo staff member and a Rocktown Realness organizer smiling behind the zoo’s 100th anniversary sign

    Little Rock Zoo Family Memberships

Working with the Little Rock Zoo, we distributed four annual family memberships through a community photo contest, giving families opportunities to return, explore, and spend time together throughout the year.

  • A Rocktown Realness organizer and a Shorter College representative beside a table of donated bedding and supplies

    Shorter College Emergency Supply Drive

We mobilized neighbors through Facebook and a shared wishlist to collect more than 250 essential items for students at Shorter College. Contributions included bedding, hygiene products, household goods, snacks, and laundry supplies.

  • Pre-K students working with play dough, kinetic sand, stickers, and markers

    Gibbs Pre-K Art Supplies

Our community raised $345 for a Gibbs pre-K classroom’s art supplies, helping put materials for creativity and hands-on learning into young children’s hands.

  • A Gibbs thank-you graphic showing excited students cheering, announcing their Destination Imagination team is fully funded for Global Finals

    Gibbs Destination Imagination Fundraising

We helped organize fundraising for Gibbs Elementary’s Destination Imagination teams, connecting community support with opportunities for students to create, collaborate, and compete. The Gibbs community fully funded a team’s participation in Global Finals in Kansas City.

Showing Up for Local

Little Rock's local businesses and community organizations need people to know about them and show up. We share places worth discovering, bring attention to community-led efforts, and encourage neighbors to put their support into practice.

  • Healthy Chew

Supported the business through meal purchases during its recovery from a winter storm and shared its work with our community.

  • Certified Pies

Shared information about the local business, helping neighbors discover another place to support here in Little Rock.

  • Little Rock Animal Village Leash Drive

Helped spread the word about a leash drive supporting Little Rock Animal Village, encouraging neighbors to contribute to an existing community effort.

  • CAN DO GOOD

Helped bring attention to Puppy Community’s canned-food drive benefiting Little Rock Animal Village.

“They came out and supported us and they continued to buy meals till we got back on our feet.”
