About

A fuller story. A shared responsibility.

Rocktown Realness began in 2017 with Sinovia Mayfield sharing a fuller story of Little Rock: its people, possibilities, everyday joys, and the challenges worth showing up for. Over time, those conversations became connections, and neighbors turned those connections into grocery support, school supplies, family experiences, and other acts of care. In 2025, that growing work led to the creation of the Rocktown Real Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps sustain our community programs. Today, Rocktown Realness continues to bring together storytelling, civic tools, practical support, and shared joy, rooted in the belief that we all have something to contribute to the city we call home.

What Grounds the Work?

These six beliefs guide how we connect people, put resources to work, and care for the city we call home.

Deliberate Stewardship

We don’t wait for permission to care. We tend to Little Rock’s overlooked corners, relationships, and community needs with purpose and consistency. Care is a practice, and showing up over time is how we nurture what’s possible.

Safety Through Stability

Real safety grows from secure housing, steady services, walkable streets, and neighbors who know each other. We believe investing in the things that keep people grounded and connected is essential to a safer city.

Joy as Civic Strategy

Joy makes people want to show up, stay connected, and take care. From porch concerts to neighborhood gatherings, shared moments build belonging. People deserve opportunities to laugh, celebrate, and feel part of their city.

Community Continuity

Progress should honor the people, stories, and cultures that made a neighborhood home. We believe reinvestment should strengthen that identity and help longtime neighbors remain part of what comes next.

Local Prosperity

A few neighbors showing up for a local business can change its whole evening. Supporting homegrown shops, makers, markets, and services keeps resources circulating here and strengthens the people who make Little Rock what it is.

Civics Over Politics

City budgets, schools, streets, and public decisions shape everyday life. We make those processes easier to understand and participate in so more neighbors can ask questions, speak up, and help shape their city.

Founder Story

Rooted in Little Rock.
Grounded in care.

Founded by Sinovia Mayfield, Rocktown Realness has been telling Little Rock’s stories and bringing neighbors together since 2017.

Our work is grounded in the belief that Little Rock is rich in people, talent, resources, relationships, and possibilities. We connect those strengths in ways that make everyday life better for our neighbors.

Through storytelling, direct support, civic engagement, and shared experiences, we turn community connection into practical action.
